The end of 2012

A lot of woodworking was accomplished this year.   The first third of 2013  is devoted to projects for me and mine.  I plan on posting a lot next year.  I also have plans for video.  Possibly the workings of an entire project from start to finish.  That would really be fun. Projects for 2013 are:

1.   Finish my grandsons  bookcase.

2.  Finish and install the porch newels and railing. – probably springtime, winters here its  too cold.

3.  Rebuild our backyard Gazebo, it needs some repair. also springtime, oh a new back gate also.- almost forgot.

4   Rebuild our downstairs fireplace mantle, Victorian mantle with columns and carving out of Walnut or quartersawn  White Oak, have not decided yet.

5.  Build a flat panel tv stand  from Walnut and Purple heart. -this is going to be an interesting piece, I plan on ogee bracket feet , maybe curved front drawer work and incorporating some scroll saw techniques also.

6.  two free standing bookcases with carved ball and claw legs with sliding glass doors, probably out of Walnut.

7.  A slant top dry bar, more about this in the future.

8.  A new hall tree for our front room, so our kids can fight over the old one.

9.    What ever else I can get accomplished.

I was talking with my son Adam while he was here at Christmas, he mentioned that whenever he wants to accomplish a goal that seems a bit daunting., he makes it public on purpose so as to push him a little harder to see it through.  Well I told you my plans,  I gotta do it now.

Happy New Year
