I was very fortunate in knowing Dean for a brief time. As woodworkers, we shared many common interests. A couple of weeks ago Dean asked me if I would make his flag case, I was overwhelmed.  I was honored that he would ask me and at the same time I felt a wonderful sense of  stewardship to fulfill his request. I wanted to use the woods he loved, Walnut and Purple Heart and Splines of tiger maple. These species all blend  well together. I was able to show Dean pictures of  the unfinished flag case two days before  he passed. He gave me a smile and thanked me. God Bless you Dean.

What a terrific opportunity to do something of such importance. I am so happy he got to see it before he passed. God Bless him and God Bless you Mark.

Mark, I am so sorry to hear about you friends passing, but you can certainly be proud of this beautiful flag case you did to honor him! God Bless him for his service to our country and you for having the talent to build this keepsake to hold the symbol that obviously meant so much to him!

Dean’s flag was in the beautiful case you made for him. The funeral home thought it was a wonderful piece of wood working. Can I give them your card if someone wants one made so they know how to contact you. I was so proud to see it sitting there.
